Squads are the competitive side of ijf academy and elite players have the chance to progress and represent the academy competitively.
ABOUT THE SQUADS
The job of every IJF coach is to ensure that every player is placed into an environment which is set at the correct challenge point. In every age group, players develop at different rates and where certain players may struggle during their formative years may strive at an older age and vice versa. The squad part of the academy is for players who have been identified as striving within their age group and require the challenge of playing with and against players of similar ability. All players will be constantly monitored in terms of their development and any player recognised in our academy or schools programme that require that extra challenge, then they will be invited to trial with the squads. Squad players will be exposed to a regular, varied games programme as well as entering various tournaments within the region, the GCC and Europe.
Our curriculum encompasses the four moments of the game which are; in possession, out of possession and the two transitions. We expose and challenge our players to the various scenarios which occur during a game, allowing them to arrive at the best solution.
We offer a varied games programme throughout the session with various returns such as, technical, tactical, psychosocial and physical.
We have a programme for every age and ability and the IJF coaches will ensure that every player is put into the correct programme based upon their ability and development.
Every IJF member will have access to a regular games programme to complement their training. Our academy players will compete in our own, Internal Development League. Any player recognised as needing an extra challenge within the academy will be invited to trail for the squads programme.
